The implementation principles are a guidance for working with ethical trade from theory to practice. The implementation is a long process that among other things depends on what kind of organisation it is and what its purpose is. Furthermore, it is depended on what products your company sell, if you purchase from manufacturers or suppliers, in what countries, etc. There is not only one way to implement the principles for ethical trade in practice, but the first step is to ensure that the effort is embedded throughout the whole organisation and involves key persons and key parts of the organsation.
DIEH works with seven implementation principles. The principles work as a practical tool for working with responsible sourcing and supply chain management.
As a member you can find tools and practices for each principle at the member sites.
1. Embedding
2. Dissemination
3. Risk assessment
4. Improvements
5. Business practice
6. New suppliers
7. Communication and reporting
