DIEH has five membership categories:
- Companies – Private and public that companies that engage in either indirect or direct commercial relations with producers and suppliers in developing countries and the new growth economies
- Business associations – and networks
- NGO’s – that engage in topics that relate to ethical trade, CSR, human – and labour rights, work environment and sustainable development
- Trade unions
- Public organisations and institutions – including educational institutions and foundations, municipalities and regions that have either direct or indirect commercial relations with producers and suppliers in developing countries and the new growth economies.

The annual membership fees are calculated according to the organisations’s total payroll.

A: Annual payroll: 0-2 mil. kr. = Annual fee in 2018; 5,772 DKK. excl. VAT
B: Annual payroll: 2 to 6.9 mil. DKK = Annual fee in 2018; DKK 10,513 excl. VAT
C: Annual payroll: 7 to 34.9 mil. DKK = Annual fee in 2018; 16,975 DKK excl. VAT
D: Annual payroll: 35 to 99.9 mil. DKK = Annual fee in 2018; DKK 28,819 excl. VAT
E: Annual payroll: 100 to 349.9 mil. kr. = Annual fee in 2018; 41,739 DKK excl. VAT
F: Annual payroll: 350+ mil. kr. = Annual fee in 2018; 53,588 DKK excl. VAT
NB: The maximum annual fee for organisations and public institutions in 2018 is DKK 24,769
NB: The maximum annual fee for funds and educational institutions in 2018 is DKK 10,768 excl.
NB: The fee for observers in 2018 is DKK 2,153 excl. VAT. (It is only government bodies and ministries who can obtain observer status)
