Webinar: The future of sourcing from Africa – conditions for a successful textile supply chain from Ethiopia
In the transition to a more sustainable textile sector, one of the key steps often mentioned is to ‘simplify the supply chain’. The relevance and urgency for change has only grown in the current crisis.
Ethiopia, being a relatively new player on the textile market, may bring opportunities for creating a full supply chain from field to shelve, close to Europe. But what can we learn so far? Could Ethiopia become the new destination to build more sustainable, inclusive and innovative garment- and textile supply chains?
The webinar is aimed towards representatives of European garment and textile companies.
Speakers & Content
Annika Schwagerl, Fashion Director at Scan-Thor/Otto, and Nursema Cill, Country Manager for Ethiopia will share their experiences working in the Ethiopian fashion and textile sector and their vision for the future of sourcing from Africa and establishing a value chain built on innovation and sustainable long-term collaboration.
Through presentations and Q&A session, they will share their perspectives on the challenges they face, as well as the potential for collaborating towards a simplified, direct and sustainable supply of textiles from Ethiopia, from field to shelves.
Do you want to hear how others see opportunities in rethinking their supply chain? Are you keen to discuss what it takes to stay ahead of the sourcing train and invest in future supply? Then join us for this webinar on September 17th.
This webinar is organised by the project partners of Bottom UP! Ethiopia: an EU-sponsored development programme, run by Solidaridad Ethiopia, Cotton made in Africa, the Danish Ethical Trading Initiative and MVO Nederland.
